Essential oil recipes for Father’s Day

Father’s Day is practically here, a day we can take the time to honor and celebrate the dads in our lives and do something for them that shows you care, a great way to do this being in the form of homemade gifts.

Here are three essential oil recipes for Father’s Day that person in your life is sure to love:

A refreshing scrub is a great way to reset after a long day.

In a glass or plastic jar add:

  •  4oz  of Himalayan salt
  •  1 oz of  Jojoba oil mixed with
  •  8 drops of Frankincense (Boswellia carterii)
  •  12 drops of Cedarwood (Cedrus atlantica)
  •   2 drops Lemongrass (Cymbopogon flexuosus)

Combine and enjoy: If you’d like a more moisturizing consistency, add more Jojoba.

For less self care oriented dads, this makes a great hand scrub as well- feel free to set it out for him next to his hand soap.

2.Topical Oil blend

This easy oil blend can be used on hair and skin.

To 10ml of jojoba oil, add:

  • 2 drops Frankincense (Boswellia carterii)
  • 2 drops Cedarwood (Cedrus atlantica)
  • 1 drop Lemongrass (Cymbopogon flexuosus)

3.Bug repellent

For celebrating dad outdoors without worrying about pests, combine 8 drops of Lemongrass (Cymbopogon flexuosus) , and 3 drops of Frankincense (Boswellia carterii) to a diffuser to keep insects at bay.

No matter how you celebrate Father’s Day, let’s all take the time to thank the person in our lives that embodies who a father is to us: a nurturing individual who truly made you feel loved and appreciated through life. This is something important to note not only today, but always as you learn from and make new memories with them.
